Firefighters were dispatched around 2 a.m. to Opportunity Avenue in Letterkenny after an automatic alarm signaled trouble, Franklin Fire Company reported. When Letterkenny Army’s Engine 13-2 arrived, they found the single-story building standing in darkness with no visible flames. But inside, thick smoke billowed through the structure.
As Engine 45 neared the scene, firefighters upgraded the response to a full box alarm. Crews entered the building and discovered flames consuming a table saw, wood bin, and metal barrel. They quickly knocked down the fire before shifting focus to clearing the dense smoke.
Firefighters operated for two hours under the command of Sgt. Miller (44-2). No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
